We should never take anything for granted.
“It’s true that we don’t know what we’ve got until we lose it, but it’s also true that wedon’t know what we’ve been missing until it arrives.” Unknown
Reminds me of the Big Yellow Taxi lyrics, by Joni Mitchell “Don’t it always seem to go /That you don’t know what you’ve got / Till it’s gone / ” We most times don’t see it till it’s gone. We need to be in the “See it Now”.
This brings us to the second part of the quote. Have you always had a strong desire to do something for example run your own business, but was never given an opportunity to do it?? Give your self that opportunity. That is your “missing until it arrives” . Have you forgotten about your goal?? It s there now! Act on it. Discover your passion.
There aren’t any limitations in what you can do, except the limitations you have in your own mind. Sure, frustration sets in and we made many mistakes, but realized your mistakes are the stepping stones to your success. Share your learning experiences, that is the way we learn and grow.
It’s like someone said to me earlier today….”I guess it’s like everything… if you live next to Disney World you don’t go there because it’s really close, you kinda take it for granted…..”

It’s hard to look into the future and see what you are going to miss sometimes. Just make the best choices as you see it and keep moving. Just taking action will gain your experiences to learn what to do better at the next opportunity.
Thanks for the insight Sandi,
Alecia
I completely agree with you Sandi. It’s really sad that many times we don’t appreciate what we have or are too afraid of the unknown (or going out of our comfort zone) to do something we have desired. I guess there are so many distractions out there that is hard to focus on what is important for us, or our passion. We tend to the urgent and forget about other important things. So important to pay attention to the “See it Now”, as you said.
I appreciate your post! Keep up the good work!
Thank you Alecia and Soledad. I always belive we always need those reminders to keep us on track.
Sandi, Love your blog and yes sometimes we just do not realize what we have until we have maybe lost it Also we sometimes do not see what is in front us like an amazing opportunity until it passes us by and it is too late for us. We all learn from our mistakes and challenges in life. What would life be without a few curves in our lifes journey. Keep up these great post they are great reminders and eye openers to living in the now and living, loving and laughing.
Thanks Ann…it was your quote that inspired this post.
Great reminder Sandi. All we have is now, and it will never come back…use it full on! And be grateful for each moment to make a dream come into reality. Thank you.
